Goalkeeper Manuel Almunia is keen to finish his career at Arsenal after agreeing a new 'long-term' extension to his contract at the Emirates Stadium.
The 30-year-old Spaniard has become first choice in Arsene Wenger's plans after dislodging former number one Jens Lehmann during the opening weeks of the current campaign.
Almunia initially joined the Gunners from Spanish side Celta Vigo in 2004 and has made 40 appearances this season.
"I am very happy. I have extended my contract and I hope to be here for a long, long time," he told the club's official website.
"I talked to my wife and I said I did not want to go back to Spain to play. Hopefully I can finish my career here.
"Football can change your life in one second. At the start of the season, I was not playing.
"But football changed my life again and now I am one of the happiest men around."
