Alex Song on Verge of Joining Barcelona

Arsenal could be on the verge of loosing another pivotal player in the form of midfielder Alex Song. It appears that Cameroon international has reached an agreement with Spanish side Barcelona, according to Catalan newspaper Sport.

Talk of Barca making a move for the player emerged last month as the Catalan giants became frustrated in their pursuit of Athletic Bilbao’s Javi Martinez.

Sport reports that Barcelona have agreed personal terms with Song, but they have yet to submit a formal offer to Arsenal.

Song is thought to have come into Tito Vilanova's plans as officials are impressed with Song’s ability to operate in defence and midfield, and he is seen as a replacement for Seydou Keita, who left the club earlier this summer.
