    Adebayor boost for Gunners

    27 Jun 2008 - 11:48:52

Striker Emmanuel Adebayor could be staying with Arsenal after suitors AC Milan decided to renew their interest in Ronaldinho.

The Italian giants previously stated that the capture of the Togo striker from the Gunners would be their only piece of transfer business this summer.

However, vice-president Adriano Galliani has now confirmed his club's intention to return to their previous attempt to land Ronaldinho from Barcelona.

Milan will abandon their interest in Adebayor should they clinch the signing of the Brazilian.

"There is a yes from coach Carlo Ancelotti to go for the Brazilian," Galliani told Gazzetta dello Sport. "It's Ronaldinho or Adebayor. Buying one excludes taking the other.

"Ancelotti is ready to build a Milan with Ronaldinho and without Adebayor."

Speaking on Thursday, Adebayor's agent claimed it was '80 per cent' certain that his client would be joining the Rossoneri this summer.

He has been linked with a £20million move to Italy after scoring 46 goals in 105 appearances since his arrival at Arsenal in January 2006.
