Arsenal are on course for yet more European football next season while Hull City are still in a relegation fight after losing to Arsene Wenger’s men at the KC Stadium.
Hull were trailing by three goals before the break after a brace from from Alexis Sanchez split by a deflected strike from Aaron Ramsay. The game ended 1-3 after Stephen Quinn got one back in the second half.
The night left Arsenal in third place. They are level on points with Manchester City but have a game in hand, while Hull are one point above the relegation zone and now move below Leicester. But here’s what was really getting people talking during the match.
1. Arsene Wenger’s had a hair cut

Wenger looks so much younger with his new hair cut…. ðŸ‘
— The Dublin Gooner âš½ï¸ (@squire1972) May 4, 2015
I like Wenger's hair cut
— Sabrina Kyawt (@sabrinaAFC1) May 4, 2015
Wenger rocking a fresh haircut for the game! #gooners
— Shabizzel (@KloknessMonster) May 4, 2015
Arsene Wenger's looking fresh with that haircut
— Arsenal News (@__arsenal_news_) May 4, 2015
Seriously, nothing gets past Twitter, but if you need proof… we’ve got it. The first picture was taken on April 18 when Arsenal played Reading in the FA Cup semi-final, and the other is from tonight.

2. Tom Huddleston nearly scored a blinder
Brilliant effort at an own goal by Huddlestone with a back-flick – saved by Harper but would have been one of the best ever.
— Martyn Ziegler (@martynziegler) May 4, 2015
The only problem was the clever little flick was almost an own goal.
Huddleston nearly scored the maddest own goal loool
— Ömar Corleone (@ImNotAbdi) May 4, 2015
Huddleston with that flick of dreams. Hahah
— Khalid (@DatGuyKhalid) May 4, 2015
LOL Huddleston. What an own goal it would've been.
— Anööp Nair (@AlwaysaMalayali) May 4, 2015
We’re all agreed, Huddleston wins the own-goal-that-never-was award of the decade.
3. Ramsey played out of position to sacrifice himself for the good of the club

Arsenal fans weren’t happy to see Aaron Ramsey in an unusual position…
Don't see why we play Ramsey out of position n Walcott is just warming the bench
— Arsenalismyhome (@amoahriddick) May 4, 2015
And were equally unhappy to see an injury-prone Ramsey down on the ground…
Argggggggggghhh! Not again Ramsey 😩
— Àlà bÃAdé (@Daeyusbobo) May 4, 2015
Please be okay Ramsey 🙈
— Tariro (@Princess_tarry) May 4, 2015
Ramsey down
— sergii (@Mikkzlawal) May 4, 2015
…but they calmed down when he scored in the 33rd minute to take Arsenal 2-0 ahead.
4. Stat of the game

57: Quinn pulls a goal back for the Tigers as he heads home Elmohamady's cross following good work from Meyler #HULARS
— Hull City (@HullCity) May 4, 2015
Quinn’s goal to bring it to 3-1 on the 56th minute was a great time for a first club goal. That stat even bettered the fact that Sanchez has scored against Hull in three games this season.
Great goal that from Quinn
— Shaun Payne (@Shaun_Payne_7) May 4, 2015
Just Quinn time
— Joshua Horsley (@JoshuaTHFC) May 4, 2015
5. It didn’t go unnoticed that there was a whole host of former Spurs players in the Hull side

Huddlestone robbed, Livermore foul, Dawson deflection. Cheers Spurs.
— Squid Boy (@TheSquidBoyLike) May 4, 2015
3 ex-Spurs contributed to the goal. Huddlestone gave the ball away, Livermore fouled and Dawson's deflection steered it in. Fab. #HULARS
— Sarah Bassett (@MissSBassett) May 4, 2015
Michael Dawson seems to hate us with a passion. That deflection has made that goal so much sweeter.
— Ben Cörbett (@BenCorbettAFC) May 4, 2015
6. The home fans aren’t happy with Assem Allam

A number of supporters at the KC Stadium holding up signs reading “Allam Out” as they protest about owner Assem Allam.
7. Wilshere’s back, back again

Terrible jokes aside, it's great to see Wilshere back on the pitch.
— Mohamed Ali (@MohamedAliAFC) May 4, 2015
Welcome back Jack Wilshere ☺
— Jehanzeb Khan (@SkippyJay97) May 4, 2015
He had a spirited run pretty much from the off but was welcomed back to the Premier League by a collision with Dawson and ultimately won a free kick – although it came to nothing. And he wasn’t the only one making a big return. Hull’s Nikica Jelavic also made a return from the bench on the 80 minute mark.
8. David Meyer got a boot to the face and it looked nasty

OMG! Koscielny accidentally landed his feet onto Meyler's head. Meanwhile, Wilshere showed desire to play after being injured for a while.
— Chew Chin Sian (@chinsian) May 4, 2015
That looked nasty between Meyler and Koscielny. But purely accidental #COYG #HCFCvAFC
— Clif (@RebelGuy64) May 4, 2015
Fair play to Koscielny- Signalled straight away when he knew he stood on Meyler..
— Joe Atkin (@JoeAFC_) May 4, 2015
9. St Totteringham’s Day has come around again
Arsenal celebrate St. Totteringham’s Day. pic.twitter.com/HnoMhcph5K
— Sunday League (@SundayShoutsFC) May 4, 2015
Y’what? Yes the day that Arsenal celebrates that it is not only higher in the league than North London rivals Tottenham but that it will stay that way. Mathematically Spurs can’t overtake the Gunners now.
