Whilst the arrival of a new Galictico of the calibre of James Rodriguez will wet the appetite for many in the Spanish capital this evening it could make Karim Benzema wonder about his own future as a fourth man in a team that tactically employs three up-front as a preference.

With Di Maria unsettled and probably on the move despite having a great season for the European champions it remains to be seen if Benzema is one Galactico too many at the Santiago Bernabeu. Another issue also outstanding for Benzema could be the interest shown in another Colombian who would make a more instant partnership with Rodriguez in a certain Falcao who would also demand a huge transfer fee.

The Independent believe that talk of a move to Arsenal will have been reignited by the arrival of Rodriguez at Real were he could joining a rejuvenated Gunners, eager for more success and looking stronger than ever.

The report suggests that the talented French striker would be a natural fit to join Arsene Wenger who still need a classic centre forward to bolster an attack that at time looked jaded last term.

The Independent believes the situation will not please Benzema with the 26-year-old on high wages they may well now need to reign-in expenses with Arsenal standing in the wings able to assist.
