Football.co.uk's rundown of the 20 Premier League players to watch this season continues, with Arsenal's Marouane Chamakh the next man on our list.

Name: Marouane Chamakh

Age: 26

Club: Arsenal

In 2000 Chamakh signed for French club Bordeaux, entering their youth academy while continuing his education away from football.

After three years in the reserve team he made the step-up to the senior side, making his debut in January 2003.

Marouane also received his first full cap for Morocco in the same year, and has since gone on to score 27 goals in 59 appearances.

He then began establishing himself in Bordeaux's starting XI, helping them secure the Ligue 1 title in the 2008-09 season.

After 79 goals in 293 games, the 6ft 2in striker moved on a free transfer to Arsenal this summer, penning a long-term contract.

He has since scored twice in pre-season, the second of his goals coming against AC Milan in the recent Emirates Cup.

His height and strength will add a new dimension to Arsenal's attack this season and could help Arsene Wenger's men make a sustained title challenge.
