Katongo heads to Bielefeld

Arminia Bielefeld have boosted their squad ahead of the new Bundesliga season with the signing of Brondby striker Christopher Katongo.

The 25-year-old Zambia international has impressed during an 18-month stay in Denmark and leaves for a fee reported to be in the region of 2million euros.

Director Anders Bjerregaard told Brondby's official club website: "Since we signed Christopher Katongo we knew that some day he would be ready to play at a higher level.

"This has become a reality now with Arminia Bielefeld and the Bundesliga.

"We have said we would be ready to sell him now, should the terms of the transfer reflect our valuation of him.

"He has been fantastic on and off the pitch and we have every reason to wish him well for the future."
