Slipping in the scorer stakes

29 December 2011 18:26
early season lead lost

Earlier this season, our attacking spearhead of Doris and Swankie led the scorer charts   Checking recently I  note theyve now been overtaken by one contender and matched by many

Donnelly Airdrie Utd 17 Doris Arbroath 9 Agnew Dumbarton 8 Rodgers Stenhousemuir 8 Swankie Arbroath 8 Templeman Forfar 8 Kean Stenhousemuir 7 McManus Brechin 7 Prunty Dumbarton 7 Wallace East Fife 7 Chaplain Albion 6 Love Albion 6 Stewart Cowdenbeath 6 Coult Cowdenbeath 5 Davieson Stirling 5

League goals only. Totals can include goals scored for other teams in the same division. Only 15 players can be displayed so others tied on the same number of goals as the player listed 15th, but alphabetically after him, will not appear.

Why is this?  OK so were no longer the team with the most goals and especially over the past 8 games or so.

OK other players have chipped in = Sibanda. Falky, Sheerin, Macca. Malcom  Maybe the front two have created the space

Or maybe opposing defences have learned how to handle them better  Only 3 of Steven Doris 9 goals have come from open play and since Swankie and Sibby have not been earnng penalties in recent games his and our totals have dropped

Is it a problem?  Is there a solution?
