Arbroath Herald : Arbroath manager Paul Sheerin says he feels the fans’ frustration and admitted he is experiencing his toughest time in management to date.
The Lichties are without a win in seven games and tomorrow (Saturday) line up against Stranraer at Gayfield.
And with the possibility of the Gayfield men slipping away from the chasing pack, the boss is earmarking tomorrow’s clash as a ‘must win’.
He explained “By hook or by crook we have to start winning games because the longer you go the harder it gets.
“Stranraer are on a great run just now and I would rather be playing them at home than travelling through there.
“So hopefully tomorrow the fans will get behind us as I know it has been a frustrating time.
“This is probably the worst spell I have had in management and it has not been an easy time.
“Nobody likes losing but I’m confident we have a good group of players and tomorrow can be a turning point.”
And in his bid to move further up the league, the boss has been enquiring about bringing last season’s top scorer back to Gayfield for a loan spell.
Mr Sheerin said: “We are in the process of speaking to players and we have been in touch with Dundee regarding bringing Steven Doris back on loan.
“We should know more in the coming days but hopefully we can sort something out.”
But one player who looks highly unlikely to return on loan is striker Lee Erwin, who appears to have picked up a serious injury in action for parent club Motherwell’s under-20 team at the weekend.
There was hope the 19-year-old could come back to the Lichties in January for another spell after scoring seven goals in 11 appearances.
But the gaffer added: “I’ve yet to speak to Lee properly but the latest is that he has sustained ligament damage.
