Dumbarton's Scott Chaplain earned the Sons their first home win of the season with a victory over Arbroath. Chaplain's goal in the dying seconds of the first half was just reward for a stirring display by the home side. Denis McLaughlin's cross found the midfielder unmarked in the Arbroath goalmouth and he spun and fired the ball home beyond Darren Hill.
