Did we `buy' the title last season?
money and squad sizes One reason we were happy to play in Division 3 last season is there were no big spenders like Livi, East Fife (a few years back), Gretna etc. Our squad did manage some higher calibre players - Swankie, Chisholm, Falkingham, Sheerin himself. There was some terracing discussion about the remuneration packages needed to support some of the bigger players. So is that how we managed to win it - a combination of: a) no other bi teams and b) marshalling our resources to pay more for a few higher earners while keeping the overall suqad size down?
