Smokies without Morrison

Arbroath goalkeeper Scott Morrison will miss out against visitors Stranraer due to a finger injury and his place will be taken by veteran Tony Bullock.

Defender Colin Hamilton is suspended and the Gayfield side are also missing Brian Kerr, who is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Player/manager Paul Sheerin said: "We are very much in the hunt for a play-off place and need to beat Stranraer to keep that going. Things are out of our hands but if we can keep winning our games that may change.

"Stranraer have improved throughout the season and they will be looking for the three points that will make them pretty safe.

"We therefore need to play well to get the win and then hopefully find out that Forfar have dropped something."

David MacGregor is Stranraer's only absentee with a knee injury as they look to take another step closer to survival.

Stair Park manager Stephen Aitken said: "This is a huge period in our season as we face Arbroath and then play our game in hand over East Fife on Tuesday night at Brechin.

"We are five points ahead of them just now and two wins, regardless of what they do, would see us safe.

"We are going to Gayfield with a bit of confidence behind us but recognise that Arbroath still have as much to play for as we do.

"If we are going to get our bid for survival off to a good start then we are going to have to play well."
