Red Lichties monitoring Ramsey ahead of Albion test

Arbroath will check on Darren Ramsey ahead of the visit of Stirling.

The on-loan Rangers midfielder has been nursing a knock and he will be given as long as possible to prove his fitness.

The Red Lichties, bottom of the table, defeated East Fife 1-0 last weekend for their first win of the season and boss Todd Lumsden is looking for his team to build on that result.

"The players have put a lot into our games without getting too much back until last Saturday. We were determined not to get beat and that gave us the platform to win," said Lumsden.

"Stirling, like ourselves, appear to be in a false position in terms of points but hopefully we will be the side that improves their tally this weekend."

Stirling are without suspended defender Ross McGeachie after his red card in the 1-0 win over Montrose while the injured Craig Beattie (hamstring) and Darren Smith (knee) also miss out.

After two wins in a row the mood in the Forthbank camp is high but assistant manager Martyn Corrigan reckons that Arbroath are the favourites on Saturday.

He said: "We are the away side and they had a good win at East Fife last weekend so regardless of what we have done they will be expected to win.

"We have started turning good performances into three points and hopefully we can continue that, but it will be tough."
