Arbroath V Stirling at Gayfield Park : Match Preview

31 January 2012 17:01
Same again for Arbroath Arbroath boss Paul Sheerin will choose from an unchanged squad against Stirling after admitting defeat in his attempts to bring in new faces. Back-up goalkeeper Michael White remains out with an ankle problem and front-man Jordan Elfverson's back injury continues to keep him sidelined. Sheerin said: "I had looked at one or two moves but they have not happened so it is the same again for Arbroath." A win would see Arbroath move to within two points of table-toppers Cowdenbeath and Sheerin added: "It looked like they were going to pull away but hopefully we can continue closing the gap. "It would be great to only be two points off the top at this stage of the season." Stirling defender Brian Allison misses out on his side's trip following his last-minute dismissal against Airdrie on Saturday. The bottom-placed side's squad is depleted as John Crawley and Stevie Nicholas have work commitments while goalkeeper Sam Filler (broken hand) is a long-term injury absentee. Youngster Andy Hunter is also unlikely to feature after picking up a knock in a youth game. Manager Greig McDonald said: "We could move up two spaces by winning this game and that is a great target to aim for. "To do it we need to do better than we did at the weekend at Airdrie as we did not get going there until too late in the game. "I am sure we will be a whole lot better against Arbroath."
