McBride ready to fill in

League Two leaders Arbroath will have midfielder Scott McBride in the centre of their defence against Angus rivals Montrose.

McBride will come in after Aldin El Zubaidi returned to Hamilton Accies at the end of his loan deal.

Everyone else in the Gayfield squad is available as they look for a fourth win of the season over their neighbours.

Manager Allan Moore said: "We are a bit light on numbers defensively, however Scott has played well there in the past. Montrose will come here really keen to get one over us but if we go about our business as we can then we will win."

Montrose miss Craig Bell with a knee injury and Stephen Robb is absent with an ankle problem, while midfielder Leszek Nowosielski drops out of the squad after leaving the club by mutual consent this week.

Manager George Shields, who hopes to field a trialist defender, said: "Three of our games with Arbroath this season have been close-run affairs and the other was a strange affair where their goalkeeper scored and ours was sent off so we can go to Gayfield with some confidence.

"If we can get out of the habit of giving away bad goals then I'm sure that we will give Arbroath a difficult afternoon."
