Kane Hester in contention for maiden Arbroath start

Arbroath could hand a first start to striker Kane Hester against East Stirling as Greg Rutherford is struggling with a knock he picked up in Saturday's 2-1 defeat at East Fife.

Knee injuries keep Craig Johnstone and Bobby Linn out of action but Jordan Lowdon is set for a recall.

Manager Todd Lumsden said: "We have picked up a couple of great results against East Stirling so far this season, however it has not been easy. We have won 4-0 and 3-0 but the games were close and they missed good chances at key times.

"It would be great to win and bounce back from Saturday's disappointment."

The Shire are on a high after climbing off bottom spot thanks to Saturday's 3-0 success over Queen's Park but are still without three players for the trip to Arbroath.

Defender Ross Gilmour (foot), midfielder Michael Wallace (foot) and striker Billy Vidler (knee) are again unavailable for head coach Craig Tully.

Tully is hoping they can build on their weekend win with another good result on Tuesday: "I am pleased as it looks like the squad changes that we made during January have been the right ones. The team are gelling well, however it will be a tough ask to win at Arbroath.

"We have deserved something from our matches against them this season and hopefully we will get something in this one. We are in no hurry to slip back to the bottom again."
