Carreiro swells Arbroath options

League Two leaders Arbroath have added Dundee midfielder Dylan Carreiro on loan and he looks all set for his debut against visitors East Fife.

Striker Jack Smith will miss out after suffering an arm injury in training in midweek, with recent signing Jordan Lowdon set for a fitness test after suffering a thigh problem. Goalkeeper David Crawford is available after a knee injury, though.

Manager Allan Moore said: "We have done well with four wins out of four but there is no reason to stop now. If we can keep things tight in defence like we have been doing then I am sure we have the players that will score goals."

East Fife's player-manager Gary Naysmith is included after overcoming a groin problem, with the visitors' options in defence being increased after the addition of Dunfermline defender Jonathan Page on a 90-day loan.

Naysmith said: "Arbroath are a strong side, however we have shown this season that we are at our best against strong sides.

"We knocked Forfar out of a cup and almost did the same to Stranraer. That shows what we are capable of against sides that are favourites against us.

"We won our last game against East Stirling and winning this game would give us the chance to start establishing ourselves in this league."
