Craig Watson is doubt for Arbroath

Arbroath defender Craig Watson is a doubt for the visit of Berwick Rangers after suffering an ankle injury in Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Queen's Park.

Injuries have already ruled out Craig Johnstone (knee), Sergio Alvarez (hamstring) and Kieran Stewart (hamstring) with manager Todd Lumsden hoping to field former loan striker Andy Ryan as a trialist following his release from Hamilton Accies.

Lumsden knows what his side need to do to see off the only team beneath them in the table, as he explained: "We have to start taking our chances.

"We are playing well and creating good opportunities, however we need to get the ball into the net."

Berwick boss John Coughlin looks set to be without Kieran Ainslie and Ross Graham at Gayfield as both players have been rated as extremely doubtful for their trip.

Coughlin has seen Berwick make progress in his three games in charge but he knows the areas they have to improve in.

Coughlin said: "The players are working hard and Saturday's performance against Elgin was a million times better than our previous game against Clyde when we lost 5-0.

"However, we lost 3-2 as we gave away cheap goals and we simply have to stop doing that. If we can we have a chance of winning at Arbroath."
