Red Lichties wait on Chisholm

Midfielder Ross Chisholm will return for a second spell at Arbroath as they meet Alloa - providing international clearance comes through from his previous club in Bulgaria on time.

The Red Lichties miss goalkeeper Scott Morrison, who has a damaged wrist, with Stuart Malcolm and Derek Holmes both expected to miss out trough illness.

Player-manager Paul Sheerin said: "I would be delighted to include Ross and if he makes the same impact he did when he was here before he will do really well.

"We lost heavily to Queen of the South last Saturday but this game gives us a great opportunity to bounce back.

"Alloa are having a great season and are playing good football but we want to close the gap on them."

Alloa manager Paul Hartley is hopeful of adding a new loan striker before kick-off and discussions with Rangers for a player are expected to bear fruit on Saturday.

Hartley needs to bolster his numbers as the Wasps missed out on bringing Dundee striker Martin Boyle in as he has played for two clubs already this season.

Michael Doyle is out following groin surgery and Darren Young struggling with a hamstring problem.

Nicky Low will sit on the sidelines with an illness. Jason Marr and Martin Grehan are also injury doubts.

"We are down to our bare bones but we will just have to get on with it," Hartley said.

"We played some great stuff with a weakened team at Brechin last Saturday and if we can repeat that we can win."
