Arbroath V Airdrie Utd at Gayfield Park : Match Preview

Arbroath quartet face fitness tests Arbroath will look to keep their pursuit of leaders Cowdenbeath going by seeing off Airdrie at Gayfield. But they could be understrength as Stuart Malcolm, Beau Busch, Mark Baxter and Josh Falkingham all face fitness tests before kick-off. Back-up goalkeeper Michael White and striker Jordan Elfverson remain out with knocks and boss Paul Sheerin said: "We have closed the gap on Cowdenbeath so we have to build on that. "We were not at our best against Stirling in midweek but we won so I cannot complain too much but I would like us to move our performance up against Airdrie. "They are a good side going forward but tend to leave themselves open in defence and we are like that as well so there should be goals." Airdrie welcome back Kieron Stallard after suspension. They also include defender Cameron MacDonald as a trialist in the travelling party for the third and final time to give manager Jimmy Boyle a full strength side to pick from. Boyle said: "This will be a tough game to win but we will give it a real go. There has been 10 goals in the two games between us this season already, however Arbroath have scored six of them and picked up four points compared to our one. "Hopefully we can balance things by scoring more than them at Gayfield. "We will be going up there looking for the win and will stick to our attacking principles and I would imagine Arbroath will be the same."
