Moffat bags brace as Ayr win
Michael Moffat netted twice as Ayr recorded a 3-2 win over Arbroath.
Ayr opened the scoring after just four minutes when Moffat fired home from the left side of the area.
The visitors continued to push forward and doubled their lead in the 17th minute when Michael Donald swept the ball past Arbroath goalkeeper Scott Morrison from the middle of the area.
United made it 3-0 in the 29th minute when Moffat rounded Morrison before tucking in his 20th goal of the season from close range.
The hosts pulled one back in the 63rd minute when Robert Linn beat Ayr goalkeeper David Hutton from the left flank.
The Smokies then made it 3-2 when Leighton McIntosh nodded in from six yards in the 79th minute.
