Bobby Linn hat-trick bags Arbroath win over Stirling in eight-goal thriller
Bobby Linn netted a hat-trick as Arbroath recorded a 5-3 victory over Stirling at Gayfield Park.
The hosts opened the scoring in the 31st minute when Josh Skelly scored his second goal in as many games from the middle of the box.
Stirling drew level just three minutes later when Darren Smith's effort was deflected into the back of Robbie Mutch's net.
The Binos went ahead nine minutes into the second half when Blair Henderson fired under Arbroath shot-stopper Mutch, but the Smokies got back on terms in the 58th minute when Linn turned the ball home at the far post.
Linn then put the home side back in front from the penalty spot in the 67th minute, only for Eddie Ferns to equalise from close range three minutes later.
But Linn completed his hat-trick in the 72nd minute from the middle of the box before Omar Kader made it 5-3 six minutes later.
