Elgin edge Arbroath to extend lead

Elgin extended their lead at the top of the Ladbrokes League Two table after they came from behind to record a 3-2 victory at Arbroath.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 27th minute when Connor McLaren slotted past Arbroath goalkeeper Allan Fleming from the middle of the box, but they were not ahead for long.

Arbroath equalised three minutes later when Greg Rutherford fired in after Elgin shot-stopper Mark Hurst had fumbled Robert Linn's effort.

The home side took the lead two minutes after the break when Darren Ramsay's left-foot effort landed in the back of Hurst's net but Elgin drew level in the 53rd minute when Craig Gunn netted from the penalty spot after Richard Little was adjudged to have fouled Dylan Easton.

The league leaders secured all three points in the 77th minute when Easton rifled in to see Elgin open up a four-point gap at the top of the table.
