Murray nets as Arbroath march on

Simon Murray scored the only goal of the game as leaders Arbroath made it six wins from seven with a 1-0 win over Elgin.

Arbroath dominated proceedings throughout but had to wait until the 76th minute to break down their dogged opponents.

Murray blazed over from an early chance before Dylan Carreiro forced a save from Michael Fraser.

Robert Linn fired wide from close range just after the half-hour mark and Murray missed the target again with a header.

Archie MacPhee had the best chance of the half for the visitors but Craig Johnstone did well to get back and block the shot.

Arbroath retained their dominance in the second period, with Carreiro, Murray and Linn all going close again.

Elgin's resistance was finally broken with 14 minutes left as Murray slotted past Fraser for his third goal of the campaign.
