SFL website : Arbroath manager Paul Sheerin has persuaded full back Mark Baxter to sign on again for the Gayfield side despite interest from elsewhere. The 27 year old was a team-mate of Sheerin’s when he began his career at St Johnstone before having a 6 year spell at Cowdenbeath that ended when he joined the Red Lichties last season
Sheerin said, “I am delighted to have Mark on board as he was a very consistent performer for us last season.”

ARBROATH manager Paul Sheerin is not hitting the panic button just yet despite only completing a handful of signings for next season’s campaign.
Full back Mark Baxter has now pledged his services to the club for another year, joining Stuart Malcolm, Lee Sibanda and the manager himself.
Baxter, who became an integral part of the team last season was also named in the PFA Scotland Division Two team of the year.
And even though progress has been slow in getting a squad together, the boss is still confident there is plenty of time.
He told HeraldSport: “I do wish I had more signed players but I’m not panicking.
“We’ve touched base with quite a few players already and we will be working on that so there is no need to be hitting the panic button.”
As reported last week, eight players have been released from the club following the play-off defeat to Dumbarton, with all of the other members of the squad being offered new deals.
And the boss hopes there will be more news on this front over the next couple of weeks.
He added: “Now we have Sibanda, Malcolm and Baxter signed up and some of the other boys have also agreed to sign.
“I don’t want to tempt fate as they haven’t signed yet but hopefully we can get them tied up soon.”
