Annan remain top

Annan stayed top of the Scottish Third Division table despite only managing a 1-1 draw at home to Elgin.

The visitors took the lead after just four minutes as Brian Cameron latched on to Craig Gunn's pass before hitting a low right-footed effort into the bottom corner.

Annan almost drew level moments after half-time when Graeme Bell struck Steven Sloan's cross against the bar from the edge of the box.

The hosts notched the equaliser after 74 minutes when defender Scott Gibson drilled a left-footed effort past Elgin goalkeeper Alexander Clark from the centre of the area.

There was still time for late drama and Clark pulled off a great save to tip Christopher Jardine's 25-yard effort over the bar to deny Annan the win.
