Annan stay clear at the top
Scott Gibson's sixth goal of the season helped Annan stay top of the Scottish Third Division following a narrow 1-0 victory at Berwick.
Annan striker Sean O'Connor met David Cox's inswinging corner with a close-range header which hit the crossbar after 29 minutes before Brechin midfielder Ian Little also hit the woodwork with a long-range effort just before the break.
Gibson then scored the match-winning goal 19 minutes from full-time, striking home a right-footed effort from the centre of the penalty area after the hosts had failed to clear Bryan Gilfillan's free kick.
Darren Gribben was sent off for Berwick 10 minutes later for foul and abusive language after being adjudged offside, which halted any efforts to press for a late equaliser.
