Swinglehurst blow for Galabankies

Annan boss Harry Cairney will be without defender Steven Swinglehurst when they play host to play-off rivals Queen's Park.

Midfielder Lewis Sloan faces a late fitness test ahead of kick-off while striker Graeme Bell is definitely ruled out with a groin injury.

Cairney said: "We had got ourselves into a play-off place last month but have slipped back after a couple of defeats.

"We want to get moving upwards again and defeating Queen's Park would be a great start in achieving that.

"In our last game against Clyde we did not defend set pieces well enough and that cost us a couple of goals and I am looking for an improvement in this game."

Queen's Park defender Jamie Brough and striker Jamie Longworth both miss the trip through illness.

The Spiders duo have both been struck down by the bug which has been circulating within the squad during the last week.

Manager Gardner Speirs has raised concerns over a number of his players who have also complained of feeling unwell ahead of the clash.

However, Speirs is boosted by the return of fit again midfielder David Anderson while youngster Aidan Connolly keeps his place after a goalscoring debut against Stirling last month.

"We won against Stirling in our last game after a disappointing run of results and we are looking to build on that."
