Todd doubt for Annan

Annan could be without Josh Todd as they host Queen of the South for the first competitive time in the Scottish League Cup.

The striker was Annan's hat-trick hero in last Saturday's 3-1 success over Airdrie but he picked up a knock in training and is a worry.

Ryan McStay is also an injury doubt, with manager Jim Chapman saying: "We put in a great second-half performance against Airdrie so it would be a shame to not have Josh available.

"We showed in that game that we can hurt teams when we attack them, however we know that we have to be at our very best to be able to hurt Queen of the South."

The Doonhamers are without injured new signings Darren Brownlie (knee) and Calum Tapping (foot) while competition rules mean trialists Steven Saunders, Kyle Hutton, William Gros and Paul Heffernan are ineligible.

Palmerston manager James Fowler is expecting a tough afternoon.

He said: "This game has a derby feel to it and we are playing against a team who have scored goals in pre-season and earned a good win over Airdrie last Saturday.

"They will have confidence and I expect them to attack from the first whistle. Annan will look to make things very uncomfortable for us."
