Annan sweat on duo

Annan will leave it as late as possible before making a decision on Stephen Sloan and Ally Love ahead of their clash with Peterhead.

The duo both picked up knocks in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Stenhousemuir but manager Jim Chapman remains hopeful they are cleared to play as he remains without Iain Chisholm (knee), Steven Black (ankle) and Steven Logan (foot).

Chapman wants to see his side provide a consistent performance after losing control of the weekend's cup game in the second period.

He said: "In the first half against Stenhousemuir we were well on top and should have had more than the one goal lead. In the second we were poor defensively and if we are to defeat Peterhead we need a high performance for the whole game."

Peterhead welcome back Dean Richardson and Ryan McGeever from illness and Connor McGlinchey from suspension, but are still left with a host of selection problems.

David Cox (broken foot), Callum MacDonald (knee), Scott Ross (ankle) and Ryan Strachan (ankle) are all ruled out while Andy Rodgers and Fraser McLaren are both serving bans.

Jim McInally said: "A win for either side would send them second. I have told the players if we can do that with so many players missing that it bodes well for the rest of the season.

"Other teams will have periods when they have players missing and when they do I want us to be right in amongst things."
