Rodgers ready for Peterhead bow

New Annan manager Jim Chapman is hoping to get his career off to a positive start against visitors Peterhead.

Chapman has raided his former club Dumbarton to bring Martin McNiff in on loan to bolster numbers. The defender could start against the Blue Toon as Peter Watson is struggling with a thigh injury.

Striker Graeme Ramage will also miss out due to a knee problem.

Ahead of the game, Chapman said: "It is a great opportunity for me to gauge the Annan players against a very experienced Peterhead side.

"They will be involved in the chase for a play-off place and this will let me see how close to we are to doing likewise.

"It would be a terrific start to my time here if we manage to get a win."

Striker Andy Rodgers could make his debut for Peterhead.

Rodgers, on loan from Stenhousemuir, may go straight into the starting line up as Rory McAllister is banned following his sending off against Rangers last weekend.

Scott McLaughlin will also miss out through suspension and Ryan Strachan is a fitness doubt with and ankle problem.

Balmoor boss Jim McInally is delighted to have landed Rodgers, he said: "I worked with Andy when we were at East Stirling and he was terrific then.

"I tried to get him at the start of the season but I have had to be patient. I am sure he will score goals for us.

"We did well against Rangers last week and I will be looking for us to build on that down at Galabank."
