Jardine back in contention

Annan welcome Chris Jardine back from suspension as they play host to Montrose at Galabank with manager Jim Chapman looking for his side to build on their 2-0 win at Berwick last Saturday.

Graeme Ramage is still out following knee surgery, but Chapman said: "We played really well at Shielfield and the effort put in was tremendous.

"Now we have to show that we can do that week in and week out. I'm not planning many changes to the team as the guys that played well last week deserve another chance.

"A few times since I came in we've played well and then struggled in the next game, but winning this game would give us four wins in our closing five games and that's a pretty decent finish."

Montrose manager Stuart Garden has dismissed his side's slim play-off chances.

Garden's chances have not been helped by the absence of suspended pair Paul Watson and David Gray.

The Gable Endies need to win well and hope that Berwick and Elgin lose heavily to overturn a 13-goal disadvantage with the Links Park side also missing John Gibson with a shoulder injury, Jamie Winter (hip) and Leighton MacIntosh (pelvis).

Garden said: "(Promotion) is not going to happen so all we can do is look to win at Annan.

"It's disappointing that we fell out of things in the last couple of weeks, but it's happened and all we can look to do now is finish on a high."
