Peter Weatherson missing for Annan's clash with leaders Elgin
Annan have been dealt a blow ahead of the visit of Ladbrokes League Two leaders Elgin, with top scorer Peter Weatherson ruled out with a calf injury.
Steven Swinglehurst and Steven Black are struggling with knocks and manager Jim Chapman is trying to get a number of deals over the line before kick-off .
Chapman said: "We have had a disappointing run in the league recently and the run of injuries and suspensions we had experienced played a part.
"It looked like we had come through that, however we are going to be short-handed against a good Elgin side as well unless we can get some more players on board."
Elgin head south with only Ceiran McLean unavailable to manager Jim Weir due to illness.
The Borough Briggs boss is looking for his side to build on a fine display against Berwick last week to keep a tight grip on top spot.
Weir said: "The first half of that game was the best I have seen from us all season. We lost our way when they got a man sent off after the break, however we did more than enough to win.
"If we can start off in the same manner at Annan and keep it going for the entire game we can win at a very difficult venue."
