Home comforts for Black and Golds

Annan made sure of a second-placed finish in Scottish Division Two, and set up a play-off clash with Stirling next Wednesday, thanks to a comfortable 2-0 win against second-bottom Elgin.

It could have been a different story for the visitors but Jamie Duff wasted a decent chance, heading a free-kick over from close range, before Annan took the lead with 33 minutes on the clock.

Josh Todd released David Hopkirk beyond the visiting defence and, after rounding keeper John Gibson, he slotted home for his seventh goal of the season.

The points were wrapped up with just under half an hour to go when Martin McNiff met Andrew Mitchell's free-kick to head beyond Gibson.
