Annan's perfect start continues

Annan Athletic made it three wins from three league games as they beat Alloa 2-0 to stay top of the Irn-Bru Scottish Football League Championship Third Division.

Ian Harty continued his good goalscoring form to give the home side the lead from close range 12 minutes before the break, the 33-year-old striker's sixth goal of the season.

Harty then set up David Cox to give the home side a two-goal lead with a left-footed finish from inside the penalty area after 64 minutes.

Defender Scott Gibson was sent off for the hosts just six minutes later, but Alloa were unable to force a comeback, despite late efforts from Graeme Holmes and Maxwell Wright, as they slip to fourth in the table.
