Ponting handed Altrincham shares

Australia cricket captain Ricky Ponting has become a shareholder at Altrincham, before attending a Manchester United friendly at Moss Lane. The Australian cricket captain is to attend the Robins' pre-season friendly against a United XI on Tuesday. Chairman Geoff Goodwin, the Australian team bus driver, has given Ponting 500 shares in recognition of the batting legend's help in club fundraising.
