Stranraer failed to recover from conceding two quick goals in a disastrous start at Stair Park. Alloa's opener came in the second minute when Brown Ferguson was fouled and took the free-kick himself, curling straight in at the far post. Two minutes later, Stuart Noble doubled the lead, but Stranraer fought back and they were awarded an 18th-minute penalty converted by Martin McBride.
