Annan in command Strikes in either half from Aaron Muirhead and Jack Steele helped Annan to a 2-1 win over Alloa in the first leg of their Second Division play-off semi-final. Muirhead and Steele put Annan ahead before Andrew Scott pulled a goal back, but it is Athletic who have the slight advantage ahead of the second leg. Muirhead opened the scoring when he curled a 20-yard shot into the top corner after 13 minutes. Steven Sloan could have doubled the home side's advantage but he could not direct his effort on target. Steele made it 2-0 on the hour mark when he finished from six yards but the visitors pulled one back five minutes later when Scott scored from close range. Mark Docherty had a chance to restore Annan's two-goal advantage after 72 minutes but he fired over from 25 yards.
