No Simmons for Alloa

Alloa are without the banned Stephen Simmons when Queen of the South visit .

Iain Flannigan is also absent with a back injury while Adam Ashgar is missing due to a foot problem.

Manager Barry Smith is hoping that an illness bug that saw two players miss training earlier this week has passed without further damage to his squad.

Smith said: "We have had our share of injury problems and don't want to lose anyone due to illness.

"We competed well against Hearts last weekend but never threatened them. Queen of the South are a good side but I am looking for us to show a more attacking edge to our game."

Queen of the South welcome Iain Russell back after a ban however Andy Dowie is serving the second game of a two-match ban.

The Doonhamers are again without the injured Paul Burns (knee), Stephen McKenna (heel) and Chris Mitchell (back) with on-loan Kilmarnock winger Greg Kiltie struggling with a knock.

The Dumfries men are looking to bounce back from last weekend's 2-1 defeat from Cowdenbeath.

Boss James Fowler said: "Our last performance was an uncharacteristic one as we gave away poor goals and were not ruthless at the other end.

"Alloa have been strong at home all season so we need to up our game to win."
