Meggat and McCord passed fit

Alloa will welcome back fit-again Darryl Meggat and Ryan McCord for the Second Division's match of the day when leaders Queen of the South visit Recreation Park looking to keep their nine-point advantage intact.

Wasps striker Martin Grehan is a doubt with an ankle problem and manager Paul Hartley's attacking options have been reduced as on-loan striker Mitchel Megginson has been recalled by Aberdeen.

Hartley said: "This has the makings of a great game as Queen of the South have been unbeaten all season and we are really keen to get the win that reduces their lead at the top.

"If we play like we did at Stenhousemuir in our last game I am sure that we will give them plenty to think about."

League leaders Queen of the South have midfielder Stephen McKenna available after his red card against Kilmarnock last Saturday was downgraded to a yellow following an appeal to the SFA.

The Doonhamers have a fully fit squad to choose from with only a lack of recent games likely to keep front man Kevin Smith from the action.

Manager Allan Johnston said: "This is a really big game for us as Alloa are a good side. They are on a good unbeaten run in the league and so are we so someone could end up disappointed."

"They have good players especially up front so we will need to keep playing to the high standards we have set to keep them out."
