Alloa look to upset Hamilton again

Experienced duo Darren Young and Derek Riordan both picked up knocks in training on Thursday night and are doubts for Alloa as they prepare to host second-placed Hamilton in the Scottish Championship.

The Wasps, sixth in the table, go into the contest on the back of a win at Morton and a point at Raith.

Manager Barry Smith said: "The players worked very hard to get us two very good results in two very difficult away fixtures. That has set us up well to face a Hamilton side who Alloa have defeated twice this season.

"Those four points saw us climb the table and it would be good to keep going in the right direction by gaining some more."

Hamilton will be without player/manager Alex Neil (groin) and defender Lee Kilday (ankle) when they look for revenge at Recreation Park.

Neil said: "We owe Alloa after losing 1-0 in both of our games so far this season.

"In both games we have played well but failed to score. It would be good to put that right in this one.

"We have put in very good performances against Raith and Livingston and if we do that again we can win this one. Alloa will have taken a boost from the results in their last two games so we will be facing a confident side."
