Spence worry for Athletic

Alloa striker Greig Spence is the only doubt for the Wasps as they host Cowdenbeath.

Spence has a back injury and will be assessed ahead of kick-off where manager Barry Smith is keen for his men to turn good performances into points.

Smith said: "We played really well against Hearts last weekend like we had against the other so-called 'Big Three' earlier this season but we lost a late goal to lose 1-0.

"It is okay getting praise for your performance but I want points on board as well.

"We beat Cowdenbeath 3-0 at their place with a very good performance and a repeat of that would. Indeed any winning score-line would be very welcome."

Cowdenbeath include new recruit Colin Marshall after international clearance came through this week and Nat Wedderburn is available after a knock.

However, manager Jimmy Nicholl is again without the injured John Armstrong (knee), Kenny Adamson (foot), Lewis Milne (knee) and Sammy Stewart (groin) as he looks for his side to get the win that will take them off the bottom.

Nicholl said: "Alloa have put in strong performances at home all season so this will be a really difficult game.

"The last time we played them we were very disappointing and this is a chance to show that we are a much better side than that day indicated."
