Play-off berth for Alloa

Alloa condemned visitors Cowdenbeath to relegation with a 3-0 final-day victory at the Indodrill Stadium, but must now go into a play-off to ensure their own survival.

Michael Chopra struck his first goal for Alloa early in the first half, Cowdenbeath defender John Armstrong's own goal and Liam Buchanan's second-half effort sealed the win, but Danny Lennon's side failed to climb out of the bottom two as relegation rivals Livingston clinched a 1-0 home win against Queen of the South.

Chopra, a free signing in March, fired the home side ahead in the 12th minute when he turned home strike partner Liam Buchanan's pass from close range.

Alloa midfielder Ryan McCord's shot struck the crossbar in the 22nd minute and defender Michael Doyle blazed a golden chance over just before the interval.

Lennon's side took another giant stride towards safety in the 53rd minute when visiting defender Armstrong headed the ball beyond his own goalkeeper Robbie Thomson into the top corner before Buchanan fired home into the top corner following Kevin Cawley's pass in the 74th minute.
