McCord on the mark for Alloa
Ryan McCord scored the only goal of the game as Alloa claimed a 1-0 victory against a Stenhousemuir side that slipped to a third straight defeat.
McCord had come close in the 14th minute as he collected Nicky Low's short corner and fired narrowly over the crossbar from the right.
But four minutes later he did find the net as Alloa struck the decisive blow. After a corner was cleared to the edge of the area, McCord let fly from 25 yards and found the top left-hand corner.
Stenhousemuir pressed for an equaliser and Stewart Kean almost levelled with a 71st-minute header but it was well-held by Scott Bain.
Kevin Cawley went close to a second for the home side but he was denied by visiting goalkeeper Callum Reidford.
