McGowan the man for Alloa A goal in each half gave Alloa a comfortable 2-0 victory over Airdrie at New Broomfield. Stuart Noble gave the visitors the lead in the 28th minute when he converted Michael McGowan's right-wing cross from six yards. McGowan netted the second himself in similar style in the 72nd minute, firing Ross Philp's cross beyond Airdrie goalkeeper Mark Ridgers from close range. Airdrie's best chance came from Scott Morton but his right-footed shot from 20 yards was well blocked by Kevin Motion. The home side's misery was compounded in the 88th minute when striker Stephen McKeown was handed a straight red for what was deemed to be a professional foul.
