Name: Nadir Belhadj
Age: 27
Club: Portsmouth
International Caps: 43
International Goals: 4
Belhadj started his career in France with Lens in 1999, but his big break came in 2007 when he signed a big-money four-year deal with Lyon.
Things didn't really work out for Belhadj with the French champions, and after a frustrating spell he returned to Lens in early 2008.
In September 2008 Portsmouth took him on loan, and his strong performances on the left earned him a permanent deal just three months later.
A creative talent confident at left back and left midfield, Belhadj has played 43 times for Algeria and will be a key player when they come up against Slovenia, USA and England in Group C at the World Cup.
