Denton poised for cup action

Alfreton have recalled striker Tom Denton from his loan spell with Worksop and he is available for Sunday's FA Cup second round visit of Leyton Orient.

The forward scored 11 times in just 11 appearances for the Tigers and with a packed fixture list, Town boss Nicky Law decided to recall him ahead of the visit of the in-form npower League One side.

But Law is likely to be without centre-back Ross Killock after he needed dental surgery following a nasty collision in the 1-1 draw against Hyde.

Fellow central defender Leigh Franks also sustained an injury in that match, and although his ankle problem is not as bad as first feared, he is expected to miss out.

The Reds are looking to reach the third round for the first time in their history and are in the second round for only the second time.

Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade could hand defender Scott Cuthbert his first start since August.

The 31-year-old centre-back has been missing with a hamstring injury picked up in the 3-1 loss to Tranmere but stepped up his recovery with a 90-minute run out for the O's reserves in midweek and is in contention for a place in the Londoners' starting XI.

Should Cuthbert start it is likely to be at the expense of Nathan Clarke, who has been struggling with an ankle injury of late and was absent for Saturday's 2-0 defeat of Preston.

However Slade could opt to stick with French defender Mathieu Baudry as Clarke's deputy. Baudry marked his first start since September with a goal at North End to help Orient to their fifth successive win.
