Aldershot Town manager Terry Brown admitted his side were lucky to beat Leigh RMI 2-0 on Saturday.
The Shots produced an unconvincing performance against their ten-man opponents, although Roscoe D'Sane saved Brown's side with an impressive brace.
"I had no real bite in my side," Brown told the Aldershot News & Mail.
"Every time Leigh got the ball they were able to simply pass it where they wanted to.
"But they battled and worked for every ball out there and I am sure Phil Starbuck will be very happy with the performance.
"They had five or six players out and I am just happy that was the case.
"If they had a full-strength squad, or if we were playing most other full-strength sides, then we would be in trouble.
"We were all over the shop in the first half, and all we can say is that we got away with it."
