Waddock opts to leave Shots

Aldershot Town are searching for a new manager after Gary Waddock agreed to take charge at Wycombe Wanderers.

Waddock replaces Peter Taylor who left Adams Park last week following the Chairboys' poor start to the season.

Waddock had been with the Shots since May 2007 and guided the club to promotion from the Conference 12 months later before establishing the side in League Two.

He said of his decision: "This has been the hardest decision I've ever had to make.

"I've had a fantastic time at Aldershot Town. The players and the backroom staff have played such a massive part in the success that we've had."
