Waddock expecting chaos

Aldershot Town manager Gary Waddock is predicting a summer of 'chaos' as clubs bide their time before rushing to sign up players for the new season.

Waddock currently has 16 players under contract for next season and is himself not looking to make any swift signings.

"In an ideal world I would like to have my squad in place when the players return for pre-season training," he told the Aldershot News.

"But that is not going to be the case this pre-season, it is just not realistic.

"There is no news to report right now. I cannot eat into my limited budget as early as this.

"It's a case of sitting and waiting to see what will be out there. Yes, we have things in motion regarding players, but whether or not we get those players is another matter.

"But many managers are in the same position. I think there will be a rush for players later, well into pre-season. I think there will be chaos."
